i didn't get it as I'm new to GW and with the lead up to Christmas my kids Christmas presents come before my own entertainment so couldn't afford to buy it at this time
but i still don't think they should sell it separately as it wouldn't be fair on the people that did spend the money to qualify
at the end of the day it was down to my own circumstances so i didn't get it and the people who could afford to get it shouldn't be ripped off because of the minority who couldn't

Are you joking folks or what??????
NO......NO......NO......
It is a B O N U S for those, like me who read the official GW website & comply with the deal made = buy for X at our online store & you will get the BMP.
All the whinners are too late....too slow.....keep yourselves informed and except if you are a QUAKER (in this case you cannot even play a video game) you could manage it with your parents...relatives...friends...bla,bla.
Congrats ANET well done...keep on doing it
PS/ announcement of BMP has been made in JUNE 87 & lasted until end of OCTOBER 87......and you scream like kids !!!!!!

with all likely-hood, anet will probably have another promotion and dangle this mission pack as the bait. there are still many of us they want to milk more money out of, so it's definately going to happen in the future.

While I agree with you, that is how consumers are gonna get hooked for the possible next promo. so it is great marketing, because it keeps all camps on their toes, looking for the next big promo.
just like the free european promos we'll never get. (albeit minis)

I knew today was going to be epic whine day when I saw those weapons last night.
Merchants offer bonuses for using prefered methods of payment all the time. Every time I shop at Target the cashier asks me if I want to save 10% by applying for and using a Target credit card. I choose not to and I don't get the bonus savings. But I don't get mad at the guy behind me who does make that choice as a consumer.
I do hope that Anet offers this promotion or a similar promotion in the future for people who missed out, but until they make other payment methods available in their online store it won't help the people without Credit Cards.
And this will never be sold in stores. Anet would LOSE a lot of money that way.

Yay Anet make us pay for every next update ("promotion"), woo!
There are lot of people who are willing to waste their money for it here, im not.
Oh and by selling BMP in store, those who used promotion wouldnt be ripped off, they basicly got it free with EotN or anything they bough. But those who would buy it additionaly would be in loss.
And you really think by selling BMP all those fancy weapons will loose their value? Just wait for a month or so they will loose value anywhay like everything does because there are many people with BMP anyway.
So /notsigned, wouldnt buy it anyway.

You dont understand how everyone is different, were not one big race of people that likes exactly the same thing, one guy will walk to work and the other will drive. I guess it comes down to limits on personal choice, the bonus pack should have been free to everyone who purchased GW:EN, whatever way they choose to do it. I like having the disks if I format my computer, I've had to wait up to 3 hours in the past downloading the game files so having the disks is much quicker, if I lived in a small sucky appartment that had little room I'd prefer the keys but I dont, I have enough room to put them on a shelf so I'll do that. There shouldnt be a reason for me not to do it that way.
|
the promotion wasnt directly linked to GW:EN..the condition was buy something in store.....
To qualify for the Bonus Mission Pack promotion, you had to spend a total of $29 USD (€26/£17) or more in the Guild Wars In-Game Store or purchase and activate any product worth $29 USD (€26/£17) through the PlayNC online store, between Noon Pacific Time July 5, 2007 and Noon Pacific Time October 31, 2007.
For a limited time, when you spend $29 USD (€26/£17) or more in the Guild Wars In-Game Store or through the PlayNC Store, you will get a Guild Wars Bonus Mission Pack
so has not a thing to do with how you bought GW:EN rather then how much you spend in time period they specified.
people need to except it..like i missed out on CE Prophecies...but i am not whining pls put in on shelves i missed out not fair...sheesh

Thats one possible outcome but most likely alot of people wont have access to this and some may quit GW all together (no GW2 money) and others may just be completly pissed with anet, a developer cannot afford to outrage its consumers, thats basic business.
I'd like to see community response for this but as usual, when something that alot of people arent happy about gaile and the rest of them hide away.

You think that this pack had nothing to do with the release of GW:EN? If you do then you need to wake up. They knew 95% of people who would buy from only store would choose GW:EN, that wasnt my only reason, refer to previous posts but like I said, the exact cost of the pack offer was the same as GW:EN.... not a coincedence.

Actually Flubber many people outside the US don't use credit cards nor do the countries they live in have pre paid CC's. So in this instance Anet fails for not making other payment options available in the online store.
|
i didn't get it for that reason
i can't afford to have a credit card
i went trough so much trouble to get the damn campaigns even if not from the online store and i feel ofended
anet just gives the finger to the rest of us
and i am sure i'm never getting gw2 just because of what i've seen in gw1

Umm excuse me but America has also had free mini promotions the Europeans can't partake in. The difference is the mini's can be bought in game, the weapons from the bonus pack are unattainable by any other means as they are customized.
The real kicker to those that bought GWEN but where unable to use the online store is that the BMP weapons are better skins then those they released in GWEN.
Really until Anet provides more payment options in the online store and realize the world doesn't revolve around credit card usage there will continue to be complaints. There are enough viable payment options out there for non credit card holding people that Anet should be able to institute them into the store.
Btw, my husband and I would have bought 6 copies of GWEN in the online store, IF Anet offered other payment option.

Actually I don't have a credit card anyway, since I've never needed one and wasn't about to run out and get a card just for some lame missions. Again, my problem is in the 'false advertising' of sorts. Usually a bonus promotion like that is for a minor little perk, in this case I assumed the big thing would just be the novelty of carebears being able to play as Gwen, getting their rocks off, and that'd be the end of it. But it turned out to be quite a major addition, which is where I feel ripped off, as if we'd they'd promoted it properly - "Play as Togo, get unique max weapons, better than those found in eotn!" I definitely would have found a way to buy it off the store.

I could make up a lot of excuses as to why I didn't buy them at the time and just petition Anet to sell the divine auras and spirit dancers in the online store. How many people would that piss off?
|
To be honest my answer to that question would piss a lot of people off. I'd rather just see all that stuff unlocked for everyone, for free. I mean it's only artistic stuff right? I think if everyone had access to everything, no one would care about the rarity, and instead focus on making their character look the coolest in their eyes, rather than trying to make their character look the most impressive to everyone else. Kind of like a sandbox mode for appearance, armors, minipets, and weapons. Damn that would rule. No need to grind for shit, just have fun playing the game.

Pre-Orders. Collectors Editions. Magazine Minis.
lots of offline promos.

You can only pay by credit card. Why, when there are so many other online payment options and some countries don't even HAVE credit cards, is this the only payment method?

Anet has mentioned that they have included as many options as they can for payment.

I understand the concept of "Bonus", but what pisses me off is the quality of skins available are far superior to anything that I've paid for 4 times over for myself & family (that's 4 copies of every GW release to date).

Pre-order Icy Soulbreaker of Enchanting is STILL one of the best scythe skins in the game. Promo item. go figure. Oh and the Glacial Blade is hot too.

It's a slap in the face that this content is given to a select few and denied to everyone else. Hell, there are entire Countries that can't get it, so it's not like we're talking about a handful of people being left out.

It is unfair that not everyone can get it. But that doesnt mean Anet hates you.

I personally couldn't get it because my bank won't allow me to have a credit/debit card til i'm 18 (in a week or two...) but hey thats life i accept that, but what gets me about this isn't that i don't have the BMP, it's that they've put so much effort into what was supposed to be a nice little bonus pack as far as MISSIONS go, yet it contains a lot of skins that imo should be in gwen since it is a bit lacking in skins.
But still, kinda ticks you off a bit that the new expansion hasnt got anything near as many new "decent" skins as this little bonus. After all this was the "Bonus MISSION Pack", not the "Bonus New skins we didn't fit into EotN Pack"
